Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky 750mL, 43.4% ABV
Known as 'the Beast of Dufftown', Mortlach is distilled 2.81 times in a complicated process referred to simply as 'The Way'. This single malt, dubbed the 'Distiller's Dram' is inspired by the rewarding first bottling of the 16-year-old released in 1992. Matured in European oak sherry casks, the whisky is bottled ay 43.4% abv.
The nose is bold and complex, with stewed black orchard fruits and earthy spice leading to a sweet and savoury palate of apricot, honey and leathery spice. These deep and robust flavours lighten into a surprising sweetening finish.
