The Glenmorangie 15 Year Old The Lasanta is a Highland single malt Scotch whisky matured in bourbon and sherry casks for a rich, elegant profile inspired by the "magic of a sunset". This 15-year-old expression is an elevated version of the previous 12-year-old Lasanta, offering three extra years of maturation for deeper complexity and a more refined balance of spice and sweetness.
Glenmorangie's creators, led by Dr. Bill Lumsden, craft this spirit in Scotland's tallest copper stills—roughly the height of an adult giraffe—to produce an exceptionally pure and fragrant spirit. The whisky is matured for 14 years in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels and finished for an additional year in select Oloroso sherry casks. The result is a lush, "flavor storm" characterized by sun-drenched sweetness and warming spices.
Tasting notes
Nose: Rich and aromatic with scents of honeycomb, chocolate-covered raisins, dark chocolate, and spicy notes of mead and walnut.
Palate: A bold and velvety texture featuring flavors of raisin, honeycomb, and chocolate-enrobed hazelnuts, balanced by cinnamon, clove, and a hint of butter toffee.
Finish: Long, satisfying, and decadent, with lingering notes of spiced Seville orange marmalade, dates, and treacle.
