Tasmanian Single Malt whisky, 43% ABV
Description
The Lark Classic Cask Tasmanian Single Malt Whisky (700mL) is the flagship expression from Australia’s first modern distillery. Based on the original 1992 recipe by founder Bill Lark, it is a double-distilled spirit aged in small, carefully selected oak casks (predominantly ex-tawny port) to achieve a rich, viscous profile.
Tasting notes
Nose: Features golden syrup, vanilla, and toffee apple, accented by crisp citrus (orange and grapefruit) and a delicate floral oak aroma. Some reviewers also note scents of Christmas cake and cinnamon sticks.
Palate: Described as "mouth-coatingly rich" and "oily". It opens with fruity malt and plum pudding, developing into apple crumble, butterscotch, and red berries.
Finish: A long, viscous finish driven by old tawny oak, lingering spices, and a soft, satisfying wisp of smoke.
