Description
This whiskey is a premium expression of the Jack Daniel's brand, adhering to the stringent 1897 Bottled-in-Bond Act, which requires it to be distilled by a single distiller during a single distillation season, aged in a federally bonded warehouse for at least four years, and bottled at 100 proof. The spirit uses Jack Daniel's classic mash bill of 80% corn, 12% malted barley, and 8% rye, and undergoes the iconic Lincoln County Process (charcoal mellowing) before aging.
The barrels are hand-selected for their distinct characteristics, which impart a darker, richer, and more oak-forward profile compared to the classic Old No. 7.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Aromas of seared corn and caramel, followed by hints of vanilla, butterscotch, and Jack's signature banana scent, with undertones of seasoned oak.
Palate: A bold and robust taste featuring rich sweetness like toasted marshmallow, maple sugar, and brown sugar, alongside notes of honeyed peanuts and dark chocolate, with a spicy, peppery heat.
Finish: A medium to long finish that is oak-sweet, slightly herbal, and warming with lingering notes of caramel, graham cracker, and spice.
